Laser Hair Removal for Men

Laser Hair Removal for Men

Laser Hair Removal for Men

Listen up, Gentlemen! Laser hair removal is not just for ladies anymore. In fact, it has become the top non-surgical cosmetic procedure for men and women under 35. Male hair removal has traditionally been associated with athletes—swimmers, cyclists, and bodybuilders who feel that body hair hinders their performance. These days, men from all walks of life wish to enjoy the benefits of laser hair removal. For some men it is a simple matter of sex appeal, for others it provides an efficient and time-saving solution to a problem.

Here is the perfect example: Laser hair removal from the neckline can actually cut down the number of haircuts a man requires over the course of a year. Quite often, the reason a man goes for a haircut in the first place is to get rid of the "scruff" around the neck. Imagine what it would be like to remove that hair permanently!

PRE-TREATMENT for laser hair removal

  • Try to avoid the sun for 4-6 weeks before your treatment

or use a good sun block with high SPF on the area you will be having laser treatment done. If you have gotten tan on the area, please notify our laser technician during your consultation.

  • Don't pluck or wax on the area

for about 3 weeks before coming in for a laser hair removal treatment. The laser will only target hairs that are in the follicle.

  • Give the treated area a close shave

the day before or the same day of the laser hair removal treatment.

  • DO NOT apply any sort of products to the area you want your hair removed!

This includes lotions, deodorants, makeup and perfumes. This especially applies to deodorants because the aluminum in deodorants may prevent an effective treatment.

POST-TREATMENT for laser hair removal

  • Following laser hair removal treatment, you can return to your normal activities, and the treated areas should be handled with care.

  • Avoid: Retin-A, alphahydroxy acids, glycolic acids, and astringents for a few days following treatment.

  • Refrain from waxing, plucking, or bleaching between treatments. You may want to use a loofah or glove to help remove the hair as it falls out.

  • It is perfectly okay to shave before and in between laser hair removal treatments.

The belief that shaving causes hair to grow thicker and darker is a MYTH.

  • Clean the treated area using mild soap and water.

  • Avoid tanning and use a sunscreen on treated areas exposed to the sun.
